SAWA Supports Mara Elephant Project

Mara Elephant Project (MEP) was established in 2011 with the mission of protecting elephants to conserve the greater Mara ecosystem. The Maasai Mara ecosystem, an extension of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, is Kenya’s most important wildlife area and tourism asset. We are always amazed by the number of companies that sell Kenyan products and want to support conserving this irreplaceable asset.

The SAWA Shop is exactly that company, they are not only home to the perfect convertible bag but all of their handbags, yoga mat straps, leather pouches, men’s wallet, beaded bracelets, leather sandals, keychains and interchangeable extra leather straps are hand crafted in Kenya with the primary materials sourced from Eastern Africa. Inspired by travel and created with love, their travel accessories are designed to meet your needs, wherever the road may take you. SAWA is a high-end leather goods and accessories brand created by incredibly gifted and beautiful Maasai women. They hand bead each and every strap and tassel! It is incredible to see these amazing artisans at work.

“SAWA’s mission is to connect people with elephants through the sales of travel bags and accessories. We believe that protecting our wildlife is not only imperative for future generations but also our responsibility to protect these amazing creatures. Our products help people adventure hands free in order to focus on and take in the beauty of this incredible world.” SAWA Co-Founder Ashlee Hardy

SAWA has been a proud supporter of MEP since the beginning and since 2017, by giving 5% of their yearly sales to MEP’s core operations, resulting in a total donation of $2,559. MEP counts on supporters like SAWA to fulfill our mission. So, shop and support MEP at https://thesawashop.com.
