MEP Trustee Receives OBE

Colin Church, a Mara Elephant Project Kenya Trustee, was recognized in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2017 with the Order of the British Empire. It’s a civil award that was presented to him for his services to conservation, the environment and the community in Kenya.

Though granted in 2017, Colin just recently ventured to Buckingham Palace to receive his medal from the Duke of Cambridge in a ceremony that took place on June 15, 2018.

Colin is the former chairman of the Rhino Ark Management Committee as well as serving as chairman of the Kenya Wildlife Service, founding member and past chairman of the Public Relations Society of Kenya and president of The International Public Relations Association; the global body developing the public relations profession.

“Congratulations on earning the rank of Officer of the British Empire for the work you have done in conservation!” MEP C.E.O Marc Goss

Mara Elephant Project is lucky to have such a strong person with guidance and experience serving as a trustee and we’ve now updated the MEP website to reflect Colin’s OBE title.
