The Cognition of `Nuisance’ Species

A new study was in released in May, The Cognition of `Nuisance’ Species, by Lisa P. Barretta, Lauren Stantona and Sarah Benson-Amram in which the researchers looked at how animals respond to new or changing environments. MEP’s Latest HEC Mitigation Technology

    Mara Elephant Project is committed to using the latest techniques and technologies to successfully mitigate human-elephant conflict (HEC). We call this our HEC toolkit that we view as our best practices for HEC mitigation. Meet MEP’s Partner: SeedBalls Kenya

    SeedBalls Kenya is a low cost, highly efficient forest regeneration program that involves using a seed inside a ball of charcoal dust mixed with nutritious binders that are then distributed by throwing them where they will take root and grow.   SeedBalls Kenya is the brain child of Teddy Kinyanjui and Elsen Karstad who are focusing on helping reduce the costs of planting various useful indigenous plant species in Kenya.
